Private health insurance for Pennsylvanians is available through Pennie, Pennsylvania’s new health insurance marketplace.
Learn more about Pennie below - Open Enrollment, Special Enrollment, who is eligible, and possible Financial Assistance to help lower your health insurance costs.
As a state-Certified Pennie Broker I’m available to answer your specific questions and to help you decide which of the currently-offered health insurance plans provides you with the best benefits at the lowest cost, and whether you qualify for Financial Assistance..
Although there are exceptions, you can only enroll in a health insurance plan through Pennie in Pennsylvania during a certain time period each year.
For health insurance coverage through Pennie, the Open Enrollment period is November 1 throjugh January 15.
If you don’t enroll during this period, you will not be permitted to sign up for a health insurance plan until the next Open Enrollment period beginning in November, unless your circumstances qualify you to enroll in Special Enrollment.
If you call me to ask questions or enroll, please have the following with you: driver’s licenses, social security number(s), last 4 pay stubs, and most recent tax return(s).
Certain events in your life might qualify you to enroll outside of Open Enrollment.
Moving, losing your health coverage, marriage and having a baby are all considered to be qualifying reasons to take advantage of Special Enrollment.
If you currently have a healthcare.gov plan, if it’s still available, and if you’ve made no major changes, you can most likely keep it. However, you really should compare your current plan’s costs and benefits with the other new plans offered each year to be sure you’re getting the best health insurance benefits at the lowest cost because health insurance plans change every year.
Depending on your income and family size, you may be eligible for financial assistance to help reduce your monthly payment and/or other out-of-pocket costs.
Here are two examples of situations where people would most likely qualify for financial aid:
I would be happy to CONFIDENTIALLY review your situation with you to determine if you are eligible for this help.
Open Enrollment will be OVER before you know it.
Why not call or email me NOW to see how Pennie can help you before it’s too late?!
When you contact me please have the following with you: driver’s licenses, social security number(s), last 4 pay stubs, and most recent tax return(s).
